Evelyn Taylor Obituary

Evelyn Taylor was the only child born to the late James and Viola Wilbourn in Little Rock, Arkansas on April 21, 1928.
While Evelyn was still a toddler, James and Viola relocated to Marks, Mississippi where Evelyn was raised and received her education. She accepted Christ at an early age.
In 1946, Evelyn met her forever love, Willie Taylor. On December 16th of that year they were wed in holy matrimony in Quitman County, Mississippi. Shortly after their marriage they relocated to Chicago, Illinois to begin their new life together. After living in several communities in Chicago they purchased their first and only home in Maywood, Illinois in 1964, where they became staples to their block. Through their union they were blessed with six children of which one John, preceded her in death. Evelyn remained married to Willie for 61 years until his departure from this life in 2007.
Evelyn worshipped at various churches until her and Willie became faithful members of Bethel Community & Outreach Ministries in Bellwood, under the leadership of Pastor Glenn E. Miller in 1992. They moved their membership to Praise & Worship Tabernacle in 1999, under the leadership of their son Pastor Clifton Taylor, where they faithful continued to serve the Lord.
Evelyn worked as a professional seamstress for many years in addition to working at Reflector Hardware and providing childcare for many families in the community. She was well respected in her neighborhood and was known for her generosity and non-judgemental spirit. She was an extremely loyal wife and mother.
The Lord called Evelyn home to glory on Monday, June 25, 2018. She leaves to cherish her beautiful life: two daughters, Vickie Taylor and Zina (Chubby) Rover; three sons, Larry (Florida), Willie (Dorothy) and Clifton (Pearlena), twenty-three grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Hubert Taylor; one sister-in-law, Christine Berry and a host of relatives and friends. Evelyn and Willie were preceded in death by one grandson, Ari.
