Ms. Maggie Ruth Stewart-Foggie was born on August 26,1946 in Pickens County, Alabama to the parentage of Mr. Joe Stewart& Mrs. Maggie Vera Stewart. She was later raised by Mr. Harold Gardner. Both her father and stepfather proceeded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her loving sisters: Linda Gardner Strothers and Sandra Gardner Hamilton. Maggie attended R. E. Hunt High & Forest Park Community College in St. Louis, Missouri. Maggie united with Mt. Zion Church at an early age.
Maggie was united in Holy Matrimony to Hubert Looney. To this union two children were born: Ronald & Kendra. Maggie later married Fred Foggie, to this union one son was born: Christopher (Chris). She helped raise Barbara Foggie-Harris.
Upon moving to Chicago, Maggie united with Progressive Life-Giving Word Cathedral. Maggie felt like her ministry was taking care of Terrell who was the Pastor's special needs Son. She served faithfully until her health failed. Maggie was employed at PLCCA, Maywood, IL for many years until she retired.
Maggie leaves to cherish her memory: Son: Ronald Looney, Daughter: Kendra Looney, Son: Christopher (Shenika "Nikkie"), Granddaughter: Laila Grace; Mother: Maggie Gardner; Sister: Diane Gardner-Smith; Brother: Richard Gardner. A host of Nieces & Nephews, special cousins: Erma Dickerson & Willie Neal, Special Daughters: Gloria Alford & Stella Swain; the class of '65; Mr. Thomas Wells, Special Friends & Co-Workers at PLCCA. Lastly, all of the persons who were greatly impacted by her life.
