Richard Tyrone Barber was born on August 29, 1964 to Mrs. Juanita and Mr. John W. Barber Jr. in Chicago, Illinois.
Richard grew up in Maywood, Illinois and attended Washington and Irving Elementary Schools and graduated from Proviso East High School. Shortly after high school Richard moved to Champaign, Illinois.
Richard gave his life to Christ at an early age and truly loved the Lord.
Richard was a truck driver for Roadway for 7 years and then went on to work at Burger King Distribution as an 18 wheeler truck driver throughout the Midwest region. He also enjoyed cooking as he worked for many dining and culinary franchises.
Richard's enjoyment came from making people laugh and spending time with loved ones. His heart was his parents, siblings, children and extended family. Richard was known to many as Richie, Richie Rich and Uncle Ro-Ro, but was known to all that met him as a fun loving humorous guy. Richard also enjoyed his cars, especially Cadillac's.
On October 31, 2018, Richard was called home to rest. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patrice and grandparents, Murray Dillard, John Barber Sr. and Christine Hamilton.
He leaves to cherish his memories: parents, Juanita and John W. Barber, Jr.; his children, Kennon Barber (Meshelle), Elexus Barber, and Jarrin Jajuan Rutledge; his siblings, John Barber III (Darlene), Kimberly Anderson (Robert) and Wesley Barber (Yolanda); his grandmother, Jessie Dillard; his grandchildren, Kamiya, Kalani, Katriel, Yisrael, Mya, Journey, Jaden and Jarrin and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and he was truly loved by many.
